How it plays
The game uses a side-view perspective and consists of individual courses connected by a world map. The main objective is to reach each course’s goal while finding secret exits, collecting items, and defeating or avoiding enemies.
Mario or Luigi can run, jump, swim, carry objects, throw shells, use power-ups, and ride Yoshi. The Cape Feather grants flight and the Fire Flower grants fireballs. Completing stages opens routes across Dinosaur Land, while special exits lead to secret areas and alternate paths.
Plan your run
Learn to control momentum before attempting difficult jumps. Running with the Speed Button builds speed for longer jumps and makes Cape flight possible.
Explore suspicious walls, pipes, and platforms. Secret exits can substantially shorten the map route, and Yoshi, Capes, and reserve items make many stages safer.
Use the overworld to revisit completed courses. Returning with the right power-up or Yoshi often reveals exits and bonus areas that were inaccessible earlier.

Super Mario Advance 2: Super Mario World is a side-scrolling platform game developed and published by Nintendo for the Game Boy Advance. It is an adaptation of Super Nintendo Entertainment System’s Super Mario World, reworked for handheld play and featuring Mario and Luigi as selectable heroes. The adventure follows the pair across Dinosaur Land as they rescue Princess Peach and free Yoshis from Bowser’s forces. Players run, jump, stomp enemies, collect power-ups, ride Yoshi, and discover alternate routes through a large interconnected map. Critics generally praised its faithful presentation, responsive controls, and substantial content, while some noted the smaller screen and reduced audio quality compared with the original.
