How it plays
Players guide Mario or Luigi through horizontally scrolling stages, avoiding enemies and hazards while reaching the goal at the end. Levels include standard courses, castles, airships, fortresses, water stages, and bonus areas.
Coins, power-ups, hidden blocks, and map items support progression. The Super Leaf grants flight, the Fire Flower enables fireballs, and suits such as the Frog Suit and Tanooki Suit provide specialized abilities. World maps include branching paths, locked routes, Hammer Bros. encounters, and item storage.
Plan your run
Learn each power-up's strengths instead of treating every stage the same. Use the map inventory before difficult courses, and keep a reserve item for castles or airships.
Explore suspicious walls, pipes, and vertical spaces. Collecting coins and finding hidden exits can reveal safer routes, bonus stages, and additional resources.
