How it plays
The playfield is viewed from the side, with each player managing a vertical well. Pairs of colored gems fall from the top; move and rotate them to form groups of four or more matching gems. A Crash Gem removes a connected group of its color and can trigger a chain reaction.
Single-player play follows a sequence of character battles, while versus play pits two players against each other. Cleared gems create colored nuisance blocks on the opponent’s field. Plan stacks so one break starts another, manage the rising pile, and use counterattacks before the well becomes full.
Plan your run
Build small, controlled color groups while watching the next pieces. Avoid filling the center of the well with isolated gems, because they can block future chains.

Super Puzzle Fighter II is a competitive falling-block puzzle game developed and published by Capcom for Game Boy Advance. Players control colorful gems rather than fighting directly, arranging them to build large same-colored clusters and then breaking those clusters with Crash Gems. The resulting attacks send nuisance blocks to the opponent’s field, while careful chain construction can quickly turn a defensive position into a winning attack. The game uses characters and visual themes from Capcom’s fighting-game catalog, including Street Fighter and Darkstalkers. Matches are short, tactical, and easy to understand, but advanced play depends on planning several moves ahead. The original Puzzle Fighter concept was well received for combining accessible rules with competitive depth, and this portable version brings that formula to Nintendo’s handheld audience.
