How it plays

How does Suspect play?

Suspect is played from a first-person text perspective. The player types commands such as examining objects, moving between rooms, taking items, and speaking with people. The parser describes locations and reacts to commands, while the player builds an understanding of the estate and its occupants.

Progress depends on finding evidence, noticing inconsistencies, and questioning the right people at the right time. The investigation unfolds across connected rooms and timed events, so careful note-taking and repeated examination are important. There is no arcade action; success comes from solving the murder and making the correct accusation.

Plan your run

What is the best way to play Suspect?

Read every room description carefully and examine suspicious objects more than once. Keep written notes on names, times, locations, and statements, because contradictions may only become meaningful later.

Explore methodically rather than rushing to accuse someone. Try conventional parser verbs, ask about important people and objects, and save before major decisions or accusations.
