Fun School 2: For the Under-6s
DOSEducational
How it plays
The game is played from a first-person cockpit view. Each mission presents a route through a themed planetary environment with targets and defenses to destroy. The player pilots through valleys and open spaces, engages airborne opponents, attacks ground installations, and avoids terrain, missiles, and other hazards.
Progression is organized into episodes and levels. Weapons and ammunition are collected or managed during missions, and successful completion unlocks later areas. The shareware release and the full version differ in available content, but the core flight and combat structure remains the same.
Plan your run
Keep moving and use the terrain to break enemy missile locks. High speed is useful for reaching objectives, but slowing down near narrow valleys makes turns and target alignment safer.
Prioritize threats that can pursue or fire at you, then attack stationary objectives while passing them. Conserve powerful ammunition for heavily defended targets and learn the layout of each route through repeated runs.
Before you begin
Use terrain and speed to evade missiles.
Slow down before tight turns and narrow passages.
Save stronger weapons for armored or heavily defended targets.
Terminal Velocity is a first-person flight-combat game developed by Terminal Reality and published for DOS by 3D Realms in 1995. It places the player in a fast futuristic aircraft tasked with attacking enemy installations, vehicles, and defenses across a series of hostile worlds. The game emphasizes arcade-style handling rather than realistic simulation. Missions combine low-altitude navigation, air-to-air combat, and ground strikes, while a wide view and high speed make avoiding terrain and enemy fire central to play. Its polygonal 3D environments were technically notable for the period, and the game was generally received as an accessible, energetic alternative to more complex flight simulators.
