How it plays

How does The Blues Brothers play?

The game uses a side-view platforming perspective. The objective is to move through linear stages, collect records and other items, avoid hazards, and reach the end of each level.

Players run, jump, climb, and use objects or thrown items to deal with enemies. Progression comes from completing successive stages; the DOS version does not present a deep character-upgrade system or multiple role-based modes.

Plan your run

What is the best way to play The Blues Brothers?

Watch enemy movement before committing to a jump, especially near narrow platforms and pits.

Explore each section for collectible records, but avoid unnecessary risks when an item is surrounded by enemies or hazards. Keep a safe position before throwing objects and use the level layout to separate threats from the route forward.
