Fun School 2: For the Under-6s
DOSEducational
How it plays
The player explores an isometric fantasy world made up of interconnected areas, searching for the four crystals while completing objectives and overcoming hostile creatures. Exploration, conversation, item use, and environmental puzzles are central to progress.
Combat takes place in real time. The player moves around enemies, uses weapons or magic, and manages resources while investigating dungeons and outdoor locations. Progress depends on finding useful objects, learning how the world connects, and solving situations in the intended sequence.
Plan your run
Explore each area carefully and record doors, objects, and clues that cannot yet be used. Returning to earlier locations after obtaining new items is often necessary.
Conserve consumable resources until the route and objective are clear. In combat, movement and positioning are safer than standing close to enemies, while experimentation with items and spells can reveal solutions to environmental obstacles.
Before you begin
Map interconnected areas and note blocked routes for later revisits.
Search thoroughly for objects before assuming an objective is impossible.
Avoid wasting limited combat and magical resources on unnecessary encounters.
The Four Crystals of Trazere is an action role-playing adventure developed by The Dreamers Guild and published by Mindcraft for DOS in 1991. Set in the troubled land of Trazere, it follows a quest to recover four powerful crystals and confront the forces threatening the realm. The game combines an isometric viewpoint with real-time exploration, combat, spell use, and puzzle solving. Its open-ended structure and unusual magic system give it a distinctive character, although contemporary reception was mixed because of its demanding interface and occasionally unclear objectives. It remains a notable early computer RPG with an experimental design.
