Smurf
The player-controlled Smurf who travels through dangerous areas and attempts to complete the stages.
How it plays
The game uses a side-view perspective. The player guides a Smurf through linear platforming stages, avoiding hazards, collecting useful items, and reaching the end of each area.
Stages are built around jumps, moving platforms, ladders, enemies, and environmental obstacles. Progress depends mainly on learning patterns and timing movement accurately; the DOS version does not provide a broad character-upgrade system or multiple playable heroes.
Plan your run
Treat each stage as a timing challenge rather than rushing forward. Watch enemy movement and moving-platform cycles before committing to a jump.
Keep a safe distance from hazards, use ladders carefully, and learn difficult sections through repeated attempts. Conserving lives is especially important because a single collision can undo substantial progress.

The Smurfs is a side-scrolling platform game developed by Bit Managers and published by Infogrames for DOS in 1994. It adapts Peyo’s comic characters into a series of compact action stages in which a Smurf travels through forests, caves, and other hazardous locations. The core play style combines running, jumping, climbing, and careful avoidance of enemies and traps rather than complex combat. The game was also released on several home and handheld systems, with version differences in presentation and level design. Its reception was generally mixed: the licensed setting was recognizable and appealing, while the uneven difficulty, collision behavior, and relatively simple mechanics limited its broader reputation.
