Tony Hawk
Professional skateboarder and the series' namesake; he is a playable skater in the game.
How it plays
The game uses a scrolling 2D perspective. Players skate through courses, jump over obstacles, grind rails, perform aerial tricks, and connect moves into combos while managing speed and landing direction.
Career play is organized around goals placed throughout each environment. Completing objectives and earning high scores opens further challenges and supports progression through the available skating areas. Additional play focuses on free skating and score improvement.
Plan your run
Learn each course before attempting difficult goals. Identify nearby ramps, rails, and landing areas so that tricks can be linked without losing balance.
Build longer combos by alternating grinds, manuals, and aerial tricks, but prioritize a safe landing when a goal requires a specific score or move. Repeating reliable lines is usually more effective than attempting an unpredictable combination.

Before you begin
Use the full length of a rail or ramp whenever possible to extend combos.
Explore each area carefully because goals and useful lines are distributed around the course.
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4 is a skateboarding sports game developed by Vicarious Visions and published by Activision for Game Boy Advance. It adapts the fourth main entry in the Tony Hawk's series to a handheld format, presenting obstacle-filled courses, trick challenges, and career objectives in a compact 2D perspective. Players control professional skateboarders and build scores by linking jumps, grabs, grinds, and flip tricks. The GBA version received generally favorable attention for bringing the series' trick system and career structure to Nintendo's handheld, although its presentation and mechanics are more limited than the home-console editions.
