How it plays
Play takes place on an isometric, tile-based map containing towns, industries, roads, railways, waterways, and airports. The main objective is to earn money by transporting passengers, mail, and cargo between suitable destinations while maintaining a competitive company.
Players build stations and infrastructure, buy vehicles, create routes, and set orders for each vehicle. Four landscapes and several scenarios provide different terrain and economic conditions. Company ratings, vehicle reliability, loans, cargo demand, and town growth shape progression from a small operator into a large transport network.
Plan your run
Start with a short route that has dependable cargo or passengers, then reinvest profits in better vehicles and infrastructure.
Before you begin
Watch cargo acceptance and production figures before building expensive routes.
Use shared orders when several vehicles should follow the same route.
Pause construction and planning when traffic or finances become difficult to manage.
Transport Tycoon Deluxe is a business and transportation simulation developed by Chris Sawyer and published by MicroProse for DOS in 1995. The player establishes a transport company and connects industries, towns, and passengers using buses, trucks, trains, ships, and aircraft. Its isometric map, economic model, and flexible route construction support both careful planning and experimentation. The game was well received for its depth, accessibility, and unusually engaging long-term progression, and it became a durable classic of management gaming. Deluxe expands the original Transport Tycoon with additional scenarios, vehicles, landscapes, and gameplay refinements.
