Fun School 2: For the Under-6s
DOSEducational
How it plays
The game is viewed from the side. Each stage is a scrolling platforming area filled with gaps, platforms, enemies, environmental hazards, collectibles, and imprisoned troll children. The main objective is to search the level, rescue the children, and reach the exit while managing the character's limited survivability.
Progression comes from clearing successive stages and learning their layouts. Exploration is important because objectives and useful items may be distributed away from the most direct route. Careful jumping, enemy avoidance, and repeated practice are central to completing later areas.
Plan your run
Search each area rather than rushing directly toward the exit, since rescued children and useful items can be placed away from the main path.
Use safe platforms to judge jumps, avoid unnecessary contact with enemies, and learn hazard timing before committing to difficult sections. Replaying earlier stages helps reveal routes that are easy to miss.
Before you begin
Explore side paths for objectives and collectibles.
Treat unfamiliar hazards cautiously and practice difficult jumps.
Avoid needless enemy contact when the route can be bypassed.
Trolls is a 1992 side-scrolling platform game developed by Flair Software and published by Capstone Software for DOS. The player controls a friendly troll travelling through colorful hazard-filled stages to rescue kidnapped troll children. Its play style combines traditional running and jumping with exploration, enemy avoidance, collectible gathering, and occasional use of ranged attacks. The game presents a whimsical fantasy world with bright graphics and arcade-oriented challenges rather than a complex narrative. Contemporary and later reactions have generally treated it as a colorful but uneven platformer, with appealing presentation offset by stiff controls and modest depth.
