Fun School 2: For the Under-6s
DOSEducational
How it plays
The game uses a party-based role-playing structure. Players create adventurers, choose their abilities and equipment, and guide the group through the city of Khazan and surrounding regions in search of quests, treasure, and progression.
Exploration involves moving through outdoor areas and dungeons, examining locations, speaking with inhabitants, and managing supplies. Combat is turn-based, with the party choosing attacks, spells, defenses, and other actions. Experience, treasure, improved equipment, and character development increase the group’s ability to face stronger encounters.
Plan your run
Build a balanced party with dependable melee fighters, at least one character capable of using magic, and enough support for extended expeditions. Review attributes and equipment before leaving town, since weak defenses or inadequate resources can make early encounters costly.
Save regularly before entering unfamiliar areas or beginning difficult battles. Explore carefully, manage healing and spell resources, and avoid treating every encounter as a contest that must be won immediately; retreat and return with better equipment when necessary.
Tunnels & Trolls: Crusaders of Khazan is a fantasy computer role-playing game developed by New World Computing for DOS and based on Ken St. Andre’s tabletop rules. The player creates and leads a party of adventurers in the world of Khazan, traveling through towns, wilderness areas, ruins, and dangerous underground locations. Play combines exploration, character management, equipment decisions, and turn-based combat against monsters. Its presentation reflects early-1990s computer RPG design, with text-heavy information and menu-driven interactions. The game is notable as one of the more substantial digital adaptations of Tunnels & Trolls, although its interface and rules can feel demanding for players unfamiliar with the tabletop system.
