How it plays
Tyrian 2000 uses a top-down vertical-scrolling perspective. The main objective is to guide the ship through successive stages, destroy enemies and bosses, collect credits or power-ups, and survive incoming fire.
The campaign includes multiple episodes and branching route choices. Players can configure the ship's front and rear weapons, shields, sidekicks, and other equipment between missions. Additional modes, including Destruct, provide score-focused play outside the main campaign.
Plan your run
Prioritize survival over constant aggression, especially when learning boss attack patterns. Keep the ship moving in small, controlled movements rather than crossing the whole screen unnecessarily.
Spend resources on a balanced weapon and shield setup. Test equipment in earlier stages, and remember that route choices and collected upgrades can affect the difficulty of later missions.
