How it plays
The game uses a side-scrolling perspective. Players guide Spider-Man or Venom through city environments, defeating enemies, avoiding hazards, collecting items, and reaching the end of each stage.
Spider-Man relies on agility, web attacks, and platforming, while Venom uses heavier attacks and a different movement style. Missions alternate between the two characters and advance through scripted story scenes and boss encounters.

Ultimate Spider-Man is a 2005 action platformer for the Game Boy Advance, developed by Vicarious Visions and published by Activision. It adapts the Ultimate Marvel version of Spider-Man and lets players alternate between Spider-Man and Venom during a comic-book-inspired adventure. The game combines side-scrolling traversal, close-range combat, web abilities, and exploration across urban stages. Its story follows the conflict between Peter Parker and Eddie Brock while introducing missions built around both heroes' different powers. Reviews generally regarded it as a competent and attractive handheld adaptation, although its short length and fairly repetitive combat limited its lasting appeal.
