How it plays

How does Universal Warrior play?

Matches are viewed from a side-on perspective and use best-of-three-round fighting rules. The objective is to deplete the opponent's energy before the time limit or win more rounds.

Players select a pilot and robot, then use movement, jumps, punches, kicks, throws, blocks, and character-specific special attacks. Arcade play provides direct matches, while Tournament mode links fights into a progression in which prize money funds upgrades and repairs. Progression ends with increasingly difficult opponents and a final challenge.

Plan your run

What is the best way to play Universal Warrior?

Learn the range and recovery time of the chosen robot's normal attacks before relying on special moves. Blocking and spacing are important because reckless attacks leave openings.

In Tournament mode, prioritize repairs after damaging matches and spend prize money on upgrades that complement your robot's strengths. Practice difficult matchups in Arcade mode before risking a tournament run.
