How it plays

How does Universe play?

Universe is played from a third-person, point-and-click perspective. The player moves Boris through static or lightly animated screens, examines objects, speaks with inhabitants, and collects items for later use.

Progression is puzzle-driven. Solutions generally require exploring connected locations, interpreting clues, combining or using inventory items, and selecting suitable dialogue or interaction options. The game follows a linear adventure structure, with new areas and story developments becoming available as obstacles are resolved.

Plan your run

What is the best way to play Universe?

  • Examine each visible object and revisit locations after major story events.
  • Keep track of items and clues; apparently unrelated objects may be needed in another area.
  • Try different conversation options when a character blocks progress, and save before testing uncertain actions.
  • If a puzzle seems impossible, retrace earlier rooms and inspect items again rather than assuming a required object is missing.

Before you begin

What should you know before playing?

  1. 1

Explore every accessible screen before using an important item.

  2. 2

Save regularly, especially before conversations or irreversible puzzle actions.
