Fun School 2: For the Under-6s
DOSEducational
How it plays
The game uses a third-person perspective behind the craft. Players race through enclosed futuristic circuits, aiming to finish ahead of rival pilots while managing speed, steering, braking, and the effects of track hazards.
Races are organized through a selection of teams, craft, and tracks. Weapon pickups can be used to attack opponents or gain a tactical advantage, while successful results unlock or provide access to additional events depending on the mode and progression structure. Precision and controlled cornering are essential at higher speeds.
Plan your run
Learn each circuit before prioritizing maximum speed. Brake before tight corners, then accelerate through the exit rather than entering every turn at full speed.
Use weapons when they can affect a nearby rival or protect a position. Staying near the center of the track is not always safest; choose the line that gives the clearest approach to the next turn and pickup.
Wipeout is a futuristic racing game developed and published by Psygnosis for DOS in 1995. It places the player in an anti-gravity craft competing on elevated tracks in a technologically advanced racing league. The game combines fast arcade handling with weapon pickups, sharp turns, jumps, and hazards, creating a more aggressive style than conventional racing games. Its visual design and electronic soundtrack helped establish the identity of the series, while the DOS version brought the concept to compatible computers. Reception generally praised its speed, presentation, and distinctive atmosphere, although its demanding controls and technical requirements could make it less accessible.
