How it plays

How does Worms play?

Matches take place on a two-dimensional landscape viewed from the side. Players alternate turns between worm teams, moving one selected worm and attempting to damage or eliminate enemies before the turn timer expires.

The arsenal includes projectile weapons, explosives, and utility items. Terrain can be reshaped by blasts, allowing players to expose enemies, create cover, or knock worms into water. Victory goes to the last surviving team, while campaign and scenario progress introduces different battle conditions and objectives.

Plan your run

What is the best way to play Worms?

Use terrain and elevation to control the battlefield rather than firing immediately. Take time to adjust aim and power, and remember that explosions can damage the attacking worm or destroy useful cover.

Prioritize isolated, heavily damaged, or strategically important worms. Save powerful weapons for clustered enemies or difficult positions, and use movement tools when a direct shot is unsafe.

Before you begin

What should you know before playing?

  1. 1

Account for projectile arcs, wind, and the time limit before committing to a shot.

  2. 2

Explosions can create defensive tunnels as well as inflict damage.

  3. 3

Local multiplayer is strongest when teams are given enough time to plan each turn.
