How it plays
Matches are viewed from the side of a two-dimensional wrestling ring. The objective is usually to weaken an opponent, perform a successful pin, or meet the special conditions of the selected match type.
Players move around the ring, strike, grapple, throw opponents, escape attacks, and attempt pins. The Road to WrestleMania mode structures a wrestler’s progress through a sequence of bouts, while other modes provide more direct matches and practice opportunities. Winning advances the selected storyline and can make stronger opponents available.
Plan your run
Use strikes to create openings, then follow with a grapple or throw rather than repeatedly attacking from a neutral position. Watch the opponent’s recovery and avoid attempting a pin before enough damage has been dealt.
Near the ropes, reposition carefully so throws and escapes do not leave your wrestler vulnerable. In longer matches, patience is usually safer than constant button pressing.

WWE: Road to WrestleMania X8 is a professional-wrestling game developed by Natsume and published by THQ for the Game Boy Advance. It presents WWE matches from a side-on perspective, combining grappling, strikes, pin attempts, and ring movement in a compact handheld format. The main attraction is its career-style progression toward WrestleMania X8, supported by exhibition-style bouts and a roster of recognizable WWE performers from the early 2000s. Its presentation is necessarily simplified by the hardware, but the game was generally regarded as a competent portable wrestling adaptation, especially for its accessible controls and licensed content. Matches emphasize timing, positioning, and managing an opponent’s stamina rather than complex simulation.
