Fun School 2: For the Under-6s
DOSEducational
How it plays
The game is played from a first-person perspective inside a maze-like spacecraft or facility. The main objective is to explore the installation, survive encounters with xenomorphs, locate useful equipment, and find a way to complete the mission. Corridors and rooms must be examined carefully because progress depends on navigation and finding access routes.
The player moves through the environment, engages hostile creatures, collects and uses equipment, and manages limited resources. The level structure is exploration-driven rather than a sequence of short arcade stages, with progression coming from opening routes, reaching new areas, and solving the installation's hazards.
Plan your run
Map the corridors as you explore, since returning to earlier areas is often necessary and the layout can be confusing.
Conserve ammunition and supplies whenever possible. Check rooms methodically and avoid rushing into unfamiliar spaces, especially when an encounter may leave little room to maneuver.
Before you begin
Keep track of explored corridors and important locations.
Search thoroughly for equipment before committing to dangerous areas.
Xenomorph is a science-fiction horror action game developed by Pandora Software and published by Electronic Arts for DOS in 1990. It combines a first-person viewpoint with dungeon-crawler exploration, placing the player inside a hostile space installation threatened by alien creatures. The game emphasizes navigation, combat, resource management, and discovering a route through interconnected corridors rather than fast arcade action. Its atmosphere and perspective helped distinguish it from many contemporary computer games, although reviews commonly regarded the interface and difficulty as demanding. Xenomorph remains a notable early attempt to adapt claustrophobic science-fiction horror to a personal-computer setting.
