How it plays
The main story is viewed from an overhead perspective as the player explores areas, speaks with characters, completes requests, and enters card battles. Progression unlocks new opponents, locations, cards, and story events.
Duels use the Yu-Gi-Oh! trading card game rules, including Monster, Spell, and Trap cards, Extra Deck cards, Synchro Summoning, and Life Points. Turbo Duels add Speed Spell cards and Speed Counters. Separate tournament and multiplayer-oriented modes provide additional matches beyond the story campaign.
Plan your run
Build the deck around a clear main plan instead of filling it with every attractive card. Keep the deck close to the legal minimum so key cards appear more consistently.
Use the story and tournament modes to test the deck against different strategies. Save removal and defensive cards for threats that genuinely stop your plan, and learn the timing of Synchro Summons, chain effects, and the Battle Phase before attempting higher-level Duels.

Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's World Championship 2011: Over the Nexus is a collectible card game and role-playing adventure developed by Konami Digital Entertainment for Nintendo DS. It combines a story set in the world of Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's with a comprehensive simulation of the official Duel rules. Players create and improve a deck, explore locations, complete story objectives, and duel against characters from the anime and original opponents. The game supports both conventional Duels and Turbo Duels, reflecting the series' use of Duel Runners. Its large card pool, detailed deck construction, and extensive tournament content made it one of the most substantial Yu-Gi-Oh! releases on the DS. Reception generally praised its breadth and strategic depth, while noting that the story presentation and menus could feel dense for newcomers.
