How it plays
The player explores a simplified Battle City map and challenges duelists in a structured campaign. Each duel uses a first-person card-battle view: monsters attack, defend, or activate effects while Spells and Traps alter the field.
Victory awards cards, money, or progress toward later opponents. Deck construction is central, and stronger cards become available as the campaign advances. The game also includes card passwords and, depending on the connected version and accessories, trading or linking features.
Plan your run
Build a consistent deck rather than filling it with every newly obtained card. Keep a workable balance of monsters, Spells, and Traps, and favor cards that support a clear theme.
Save stronger removal and defensive cards for opposing tribute monsters. Check each opponent’s patterns, then adjust your deck before rematches or difficult campaign duels.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Worldwide Edition: Stairway to the Destined Duel is a turn-based collectible card game developed by Konami Computer Entertainment Japan for the Game Boy Advance. It adapts the Battle City storyline from the Yu-Gi-Oh! anime and manga, placing the player in a campaign of card duels against familiar rivals and tournament opponents. Players construct decks, summon monsters, activate Spells and Traps, and manage Life Points under the series’ early rules. The game is primarily a solo progression experience, with additional card-collection and link-related features depending on the release setup. It was generally received as a substantial portable Yu-Gi-Oh! title, although its card pool and rules are dated by modern standards.
