How it plays

How does Zoids Legacy play?

Players explore an overhead world map, visit settlements, talk to characters, and advance through a linear sequence of story events and missions. Random encounters and planned battles interrupt travel and provide experience and resources.

Combat is turn-based. The player selects attacks, movement, equipment, and support actions for a team of Zoids, taking terrain, weapon range, energy, and enemy weaknesses into account. Victories grant experience and materials used to improve the roster.

Zoids can be collected, customized, and organized into active and reserve groups. Progression comes from recruiting stronger machines, fitting weapons and parts, and completing the next story objective.

Plan your run

What is the best way to play Zoids Legacy?

Build a balanced team with different attack ranges and weapon types rather than relying on one heavily upgraded Zoid. Keep reserve machines available so damaged units can be rotated out.

Upgrade equipment regularly, monitor energy and ammunition, and use terrain and distance to reduce incoming damage. Save before major missions and explore side paths for useful parts and optional encounters.
