How it plays
The game uses a top-down view. Each room has a treasure objective, usually requiring Lolo to collect hearts before opening the exit. Hearts grant temporary powers that can neutralize or manipulate enemies, while blocks, bridges, water, and arrows determine which routes are possible.
Rooms must be solved in a deliberate order. Lolo moves around hazards, fires magic shots when appropriate, and uses environmental objects to create safe paths. The game is organized into progressive stages rather than a free-roaming world, and failure sends the player back to retry the current puzzle.
Plan your run
Study the entire room before moving. Many puzzles are solved by collecting hearts in a specific order, and taking one too early can remove an important option.
Use enemies and blocks as resources rather than obstacles alone. Plan where an enemy will move after a shot, preserve limited powers until they are needed, and restart quickly when a room becomes irrecoverable.

Adventures of Lolo 3 is a puzzle-action game developed by HAL Laboratory for the Nintendo Entertainment System. Lolo enters compact, single-screen rooms filled with monsters, hazards, blocks, water, and collectible hearts, then solves them through careful movement and use of limited abilities. The game combines the deliberate planning of a puzzle title with the immediate danger of an action game: a wrong step can make a room unsolvable, while enemies continue to threaten Lolo’s position. Its stage-based structure presents a broad set of increasingly demanding rooms and introduces familiar mechanics from the Lolo series alongside new layouts and hazards. The game was well regarded among NES puzzle fans for its precise rules, charming presentation, and emphasis on experimentation, although its later puzzles can be demanding.
