How it plays
How does Aleste play?
The game is viewed from above as the fighter automatically scrolls through vertically arranged stages. The objective is to destroy enemies, avoid projectiles and terrain hazards, and defeat a large boss at the end of each stage.
The player moves in eight directions and fires the current weapon. Destroyed enemies can release power-ups that improve or change the weapon. Progress depends on preserving lives and maintaining useful firepower; collisions and enemy shots can quickly end a run.
Plan your run
What is the best way to play Aleste?
Stay near the lower part of the screen while watching enemy entrances and projectile patterns. Move continuously, but use small corrections rather than crossing the entire screen unnecessarily.
Collect weapon power-ups selectively and learn which weapon suits each stage. Prioritize enemies that fire aimed shots, and approach bosses with a full life stock and a weapon that can attack safely from a distance.
Before you begin
What should you know before playing?
- 1
Use short, controlled movements to avoid dense bullet patterns.
- 2
Do not take every weapon power-up automatically; a familiar weapon is often safer than an unfamiliar one.
- 3
Study boss attack cycles and preserve the screen edges as escape routes.
