How it plays

How does Apocalypse play?

Apocalypse is played from a behind-the-character perspective. Trey advances through linear stages, defeats enemies, avoids hazards, and searches for weapon pickups and useful items. The main objective is to reach the end of each area and defeat its major boss or set-piece threat.

Combat centers on switching between firearms and explosive weapons while moving around enemy attacks. Stages include jumps, narrow platforms, destructible objects, and scripted action sequences. Progression comes primarily from finding stronger or situational weapons rather than from a character-level system.

Plan your run

What is the best way to play Apocalypse?

Keep moving during firefights instead of standing in open areas, especially when several enemy types attack at once.

Conserve powerful ammunition for bosses and dense encounters, and explore side paths for weapon pickups before triggering major scripted events. Learn the timing of jumps carefully because missed platforming sections can cost substantial health.
