How it plays

How does Asterix play?

The game uses a side-on perspective. Asterix advances through linear platforming stages, avoiding traps, defeating Roman soldiers and other enemies, and reaching the end of each area.

Players move, jump, attack, and collect items while exploring platforms and hazards. Stages are arranged as a sequence of themed locations, with progression leading to more demanding enemy patterns and obstacles. The main experience is a single-player campaign rather than a selection of separate competitive modes.

Plan your run

What is the best way to play Asterix?

Learn the timing of enemy attacks before moving into close range, and use jumps to clear hazards rather than rushing through unfamiliar sections.

  • Search platforms and side paths for collectible items.
  • Keep a safe distance from Roman soldiers when the stage layout allows it.
  • Treat each new area as a pattern-learning challenge, especially where hazards are placed near jumps.

Practice difficult sections instead of relying on speed.
