How it plays

How does Battletoads & Double Dragon: The Ultimate Team play?

The game uses a side-view perspective with horizontal stages and occasional vertical movement. Players advance from one combat area to the next, defeat enemy waves, avoid hazards, and fight bosses at the end of selected stages.

Players can choose among the three Battletoads and the two Lee brothers. Attacks, jumping, movement, and special techniques are combined to control crowds. Two-player cooperation is available throughout the campaign, while extra lives and continues provide limited opportunities to recover from defeat.

Plan your run

What is the best way to play Battletoads & Double Dragon: The Ultimate Team?

Learn the timing of normal attacks before relying on special moves. Keep enemies in front of the character, use the edges of the screen to limit surrounding attacks, and prioritize enemies that can stun or approach from behind.

In two-player mode, avoid attacking the same target from opposite sides when it risks interrupting a teammate. Save lives and continues for later stages, where hazards and bosses demand more deliberate movement than ordinary enemy groups.
