Boku
The unnamed young protagonist, a city boy spending his summer vacation with relatives in the countryside.
How it plays
The game uses a third-person perspective and divides the vacation into daily sections. The main objective is to explore the surrounding area, meet residents, and complete optional activities before the summer ends.
Players can walk through fields, forests, streams, and other locations; talk with characters; catch insects; fish; swim; collect items; and trigger story scenes. New events and destinations become available as days pass, while the player’s choices determine which memories and activities are experienced.
Plan your run
Explore each accessible area every day and speak with residents more than once, since activities and conversations change as the vacation progresses.
Keep checking rivers, fields, and wooded areas for insects, fish, and other collectible activities. Do not rush the main events; much of the game’s content is optional and time-based.

Boku no Natsuyasumi is a Japanese adventure and life-simulation game developed by Millennium Kitchen and published by Sony Computer Entertainment for the original PlayStation. The player spends August in the countryside as a city boy visiting relatives, with no conventional combat or urgent world-saving plot. Instead, the game focuses on exploration, conversations, collecting insects, fishing, swimming, and observing everyday rural life. Its open-ended rhythm and nostalgic presentation made it distinctive among PlayStation titles. The game was well received in Japan for its atmosphere, gentle pacing, and detailed depiction of childhood memories, although its Japanese-only release limited its audience outside Japan.
