Lieutenant Riley Vaughan
The protagonist and a soldier of the resistance who fights the alien forces and investigates the catastrophe affecting Earth.
How it plays
The game uses a third-person perspective behind Riley. Players move through connected combat areas, search for objectives, fight alien and infected enemies, and activate devices that open the route forward. Combat relies on aiming, weapon selection, shooting, and managing health and ammunition.
The campaign is mission-based and largely linear. Progress comes from reaching new areas, finding weapons or supplies, solving simple environmental obstacles, and defeating stronger enemies and bosses. There is no known multiplayer mode; the focus is a single-player story campaign.
Plan your run
Conserve ammunition when weaker enemies can be avoided or defeated with basic weapons, and search side paths for supplies before advancing through major encounters.
Use cover and movement during firefights, learn enemy attack patterns, and keep health in reserve for scripted battles and boss confrontations. Explore rooms carefully because progression items and route-opening devices are not always placed directly along the main path.

Before you begin
Search combat areas after an encounter for ammunition and health before moving on.
Switch weapons according to enemy distance and durability rather than spending the strongest ammunition immediately.
C-12: Final Resistance is a science-fiction third-person shooter developed by SCE Cambridge Studio for the original PlayStation. It follows Lieutenant Riley Vaughan, a soldier fighting through a devastated future Earth after an alien invasion and the spread of a dangerous plague. The game combines ranged combat, exploration, environmental puzzles, and occasional platforming across industrial and urban battlefields. Its campaign is presented as a linear sequence of missions, with new weapons and equipment supporting progress through increasingly dangerous areas. C-12 was recognized for bringing a relatively ambitious 3D action experience to the late PlayStation library, although contemporary reactions also noted uneven controls and a short campaign. It remains chiefly of interest to players exploring the console’s later science-fiction shooters.
