How it plays
Players guide Chip or Dale through side-view stages, moving, jumping, climbing ladders, and avoiding hazards. Boxes and other objects can be picked up, carried, and thrown at enemies or used to manipulate the environment.
The game is divided into selectable map stages, each ending at a goal or boss encounter. One-player mode gives control of one character, while two-player mode lets both Rescue Rangers cooperate on screen. Players lose a life after taking too much damage, and progression depends on clearing the selected stages and defeating bosses.
Plan your run
Use boxes as both weapons and temporary cover. Pick them up before approaching enemies, and throw them from a safe distance rather than rushing into contact.
In two-player mode, avoid carrying objects through narrow spaces when your partner is nearby. Learn boss movement patterns, keep a spare life when possible, and use the stage map to choose a manageable route.

Before you begin
Boxes can defeat many enemies with a single well-timed throw.
Do not jump blindly into gaps; some platforms and hazards are easy to misread while carrying a box.
Cooperative play is safer when players spread out instead of jumping on the same platform.
Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers is a side-scrolling action platformer developed and published by Capcom for the Nintendo Entertainment System. Based on Disney's animated series, it follows Chip and Dale as they investigate a mystery involving a stolen kitten and confront Fat Cat's criminal organization. The game supports one or two players, with the second player controlling the other chip in cooperative play. Stages combine compact platforming courses with hazards, enemies, movable objects, and boss encounters. Its distinctive box-carrying mechanics give the game a puzzle-like rhythm alongside straightforward action. The NES release was well received for its responsive controls, colorful presentation, and enjoyable cooperative design, and it remains one of Capcom's notable Disney games of the 8-bit era.
