How it plays

How does Base Wars play?

The game uses a side-view baseball presentation. One side pitches and fields while the other bats and runs, with the usual goal of scoring more runs before the game ends.

When a runner is challenged at a base, the involved robots can fight. Winning the encounter can determine whether the runner advances safely or is put out. Players alternate between batting, pitching, catching, running, and defensive control, with progress coming through innings and the final score rather than a separate character-level system.

Plan your run

What is the best way to play Base Wars?

Learn the timing of pitches and swings before relying on the robot battles. A well-placed hit can be safer than trying to force progress through every confrontation.

On defense, position the fielder early and use base situations to decide whether a direct play or a fight is more favorable. Protecting runners and avoiding unnecessary damage is especially important in close games.

Before you begin

What should you know before playing?

  1. 1

Watch the pitch carefully and adjust swing timing instead of pressing early.

  2. 2

Use the base situation to judge whether challenging a runner is worth the risk.
