How it plays

How does Dark Wizard play?

Players move across an overhead world map and select territories or story battles to challenge. Combat takes place on grid-based battlefields from a top-down perspective, with terrain, unit placement, movement range, and attack range affecting each turn.

The objective is usually to defeat the opposing army or capture the required position. Units can move, attack, cast spells, and use special abilities, while commanders and monsters provide different strengths. Victories support campaign progression, and army composition, recruitment, and resource management become increasingly important as the scenario develops.

Plan your run

What is the best way to play Dark Wizard?

Build a balanced army instead of relying on one powerful unit type. Keep vulnerable spellcasters and support units behind tougher frontline troops, and use terrain to limit enemy movement.

Study the battlefield before committing to an attack. Preserve experienced units when possible, recruit replacements after costly battles, and consider how the chosen campaign changes the forces and objectives available to you.
