How it plays
The game is viewed from a side-on 2D perspective. A player selects one supernatural fighter, defeats opponents in one-on-one rounds, and eventually faces the final boss. Winning normally requires reducing the opponent's life bar before the timer expires.
Players move, jump, crouch, guard, attack with three punches and three kicks, and perform character-specific special and super moves. The arcade-style progression is a sequence of battles with selectable difficulty and match settings; versus play allows two players to fight directly.
Plan your run
Learn the normal attacks and special-move inputs for one fighter before trying to use the entire roster. Stay close enough to threaten with a normal attack, but avoid repeatedly jumping toward the opponent, since anti-air attacks are effective.
Save super-meter resources for confirmed hits or defensive reversals when available. In versus play, watch the opponent's habits: repeated projectiles, jumps, or wake-up attacks can often be punished after a short practice session.

Darkstalkers: The Night Warriors is a 2D fighting game developed and published by Capcom. It places vampires, werewolves, cat people, animated corpses, and other supernatural combatants in a tournament connected to the arrival of the alien warlord Pyron. Matches use a six-button attack layout, rapid special moves, and distinctive character abilities rather than realistic martial-arts rules. The PlayStation version adapts the original arcade game for home play and preserves its colorful gothic presentation. It was well regarded for its animation, personality, and aggressive pace, although the conversion's technical compromises and loading were noted compared with the arcade release.
