How it plays
Players explore the Ibis Island research complex from a third-person perspective. The main objectives are to locate survivors, recover information, restore access to sealed areas, solve environmental puzzles, and uncover the cause of the dinosaur outbreak.
Regina can run, aim, fire weapons, collect items, combine supplies, use medical tools, and interact with doors, computers, and objects. The facility is divided into connected rooms and zones, with progress controlled by key items, security systems, passwords, and story events. Limited ammunition and healing supplies make route planning important.
Plan your run
Conserve ammunition by using doors, corridors, and room layouts to create distance from dinosaurs. When a fight is unavoidable, aim carefully and avoid being trapped against scenery.
Check rooms thoroughly for key items, codes, ammunition, and healing supplies. Save before major encounters and keep enough inventory space for mission items, since backtracking is common and some story events change the safest route.

Dino Crisis is a survival-horror action game developed and published by Capcom for the original PlayStation. It follows Regina, a government agent sent to investigate a remote research facility after an experiment causes dinosaurs to appear. The game combines third-person exploration, puzzle solving, item management, and armed encounters with fast, aggressive prehistoric creatures. Its fixed camera presentation and locked-down facility create a tense atmosphere, while its emphasis on movement and ammunition gives combat a more active feel than many contemporary horror games. Released in 1999, Dino Crisis received generally positive attention for its concept, pacing, and technical presentation, and it became the foundation of a short-running Capcom series.
