How it plays
The game uses a third-person perspective with tank-style movement and fixed camera views. Players switch between Regina and Dylan at designated points, explore connected areas, collect items, solve environmental obstacles, and fight dinosaurs and human enemies.
Weapons, ammunition, healing items, and defensive equipment are purchased with points earned by defeating enemies and completing encounters. The campaign is divided into story areas with boss battles and scripted events. A separate challenge mode becomes available after meeting the relevant completion condition.
Plan your run
Conserve healing items during ordinary encounters, but do not hoard ammunition: defeating enemies efficiently earns points for better equipment. Learn which weapons are effective against each dinosaur type and use the environment to create space.
Explore side paths before advancing through obvious story checkpoints. Save frequently, especially before boss encounters, and switch characters when the scenario requires a different weapon or access route.

Editorial context
A faster, more action-oriented sequel that trades much of the first game’s horror atmosphere for relentless dinosaur combat.
The weapon shop and score system add useful replay value to the campaign.
Dino Crisis 2 is an action-adventure game developed by Capcom Production Studio 4 and published by Capcom for the original PlayStation. It follows special operatives Regina and Dylan after a time-travel experiment transports an entire research facility and its inhabitants into a prehistoric world. Compared with the slower, puzzle-focused first game, the sequel emphasizes fast combat, frequent dinosaur encounters, and score-based progression. Players move between jungle, military, and research locations while investigating the disaster and searching for survivors. Its arcade-influenced pacing and large enemy encounters received generally positive contemporary attention, although some critics felt it reduced the original’s survival-horror tension.
