How it plays
The game uses a top-down perspective for exploration and a first-person battle view. Players travel between towns, fields, caves, towers, and other dungeons while collecting equipment, solving local problems, and advancing the main story.
Battles are turn-based. Party members can attack, defend, cast spells, use abilities or items, and attempt to flee. Characters gain experience and can change vocations at Alltrades Abbey, learning skills and spells as they progress through different classes. The party also gains access to expanded travel options and optional activities as the story develops.
Plan your run
Build a balanced party with dependable damage, healing, and status recovery. Do not neglect equipment upgrades, especially shields and armor, because dungeon enemies can punish underprepared characters.
Experiment with vocations at Alltrades Abbey. Early classes provide useful abilities, while advanced classes reward deliberate combinations of mastered vocations. Keep restorative items available, save often, and search towns and dungeons thoroughly for Mini Medals, hidden items, and optional recruits.

Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Revelation is a traditional Japanese role-playing game developed by ArtePiazza and published by Square Enix for Nintendo DS. It follows a young hero who is drawn into a conflict involving two connected worlds, forgotten identities, and the return of a powerful evil. Exploration, town visits, story events, and turn-based battles form the core of the adventure. The Nintendo DS version is a remake of the 1995 Super Famicom game, with redesigned graphics, updated presentation, and the series’ first official English localization. Its class system gives the party broad customization, while its large world and layered narrative emphasize discovery. The remake was generally well received for preserving the original’s scope and mechanics, although some players found the encounter rate and pacing demanding.
