How it plays

How does Fantasy Zone play?

Each stage is a two-dimensional, side-view arena that wraps or scrolls horizontally. The objective is to locate and destroy the stage's enemy bases, then defeat the boss that appears after the bases are cleared.

Opa-Opa can move freely through the air, fire forward, and drop bombs downward. Destroyed enemies provide money, which can be spent in shops on weapons, engines, and other upgrades. Equipment is temporary or limited by its item rules, so purchasing and choosing upgrades is part of progression.

Plan your run

What is the best way to play Fantasy Zone?

Destroy bases methodically while watching the radar or stage layout so that you do not waste time searching. Collect coins and prioritize upgrades that improve movement or firepower, but remember that many shop items are temporary.

Use bombs against ground targets and clustered enemies, and keep moving during boss attacks. Avoid spending all available money immediately if a later shop visit may offer a more useful weapon.
