How it plays
Players move through horizontally scrolling stages from a side-on perspective, defeating groups of Mad Gear enemies before confronting a stage boss. The three selectable fighters—Mike Haggar, Cody Travers, and Guy—have different speed, reach, and power characteristics.
Basic attacks can be chained into combos, while jumping attacks, throws, weapons, and a life-consuming special move provide additional options. The game supports one-player and two-player modes, with progression following a fixed sequence of urban areas and boss encounters.
Plan your run
Control enemy groups rather than attacking blindly. Keep foes in front of your character, use throws to break up crowds, and prioritize enemies with firearms or long-range attacks.
Choose a fighter that matches your play style: Haggar is forgiving in close combat, Cody is balanced, and Guy rewards movement and timing. Save the special attack for situations where surrounding enemies make a hit unavoidable, since it reduces health.

Final Fight CD is a side-scrolling beat 'em up developed by Capcom for Sega CD and based on the arcade game Final Fight. Players choose from three fighters to rescue Jessica, the kidnapped daughter of Metro City's mayor, while battling the Mad Gear gang through urban stages. The game emphasizes close-range combat, enemy crowd control, weapon pickups, and cooperative play for two players. This version is notable for including the arcade game's full set of stages and playable characters, along with arranged music and additional story scenes. It was generally regarded as one of the stronger home versions of Final Fight, although its technical presentation and loading times still reflected the limitations of the hardware.
