The game uses a fixed vertical playfield viewed from the front. Enemy formations enter from above, perform attacks, and return to formation while the player's fighter moves horizontally near the bottom and fires upward.

Stages are cleared by destroying the current formation. Bonus or challenging stages periodically emphasize accurate shooting rather than survival. If a tractor beam captures the fighter, the player can destroy the capturing enemy to rescue it and obtain a dual fighter with stronger firepower.

Stay near the lower center of the screen so there is room to move in either direction, but avoid remaining directly beneath diving enemies. Fire steadily while watching for shots that are hidden among formation movements.

Rescuing a captured fighter can greatly improve damage output, but the dual fighter has a wider hitbox. Use the extra firepower to clear formations quickly and prioritize dangerous diving enemies when several threats overlap.
