How it plays

How does Gun.Smoke play?

Gun.Smoke uses a top-down vertical-scrolling perspective. Billy Bob advances through town streets, open trails, forts, and other western locations while defeating enemies and collecting items.

The player moves in four directions and fires to the left, right, or forward by using the NES buttons in different combinations. Stages end with outlaw boss battles. Coins can be spent in shops for upgrades, while horses provide temporary advantages and extra mobility.

Plan your run

What is the best way to play Gun.Smoke?

Keep moving while watching the full width of the screen; enemies often enter from several directions. Use side shots to clear threats beside Billy Bob and save forward fire for enemies directly ahead.

Collect coins whenever the route is safe, then prioritize useful weapon improvements. Learn boss attack patterns rather than rushing, and preserve horses and continues for difficult later stages.

Meet the cast

1

Billy Bob

Before you begin

What should you know before playing?

  1. 1

Use the three firing directions deliberately instead of holding one button combination constantly.

  2. 2

Clear enemies near the screen edges before they overlap Billy Bob.

  3. 3

Spend coins carefully because later shops and boss encounters are more demanding.
