Arcade-style play proceeds through a sequence of battles, while versus play supports matches against another player or the computer. Winning fights and managing the available attack resources are central to progression, although the game does not use a role-playing upgrade system.

Learn the range and recovery time of each mobile suit before relying on special attacks. Use projectiles to control distance, then close in when the opponent commits to a slow attack.

Guarding and movement are as important as attacking. Avoid spending all available resources at once, and use aerial movement to change position rather than jumping predictably.
