How it plays
How does Jackal play?
The game uses a top-down scrolling perspective. Players drive a jeep through several hostile zones, destroy enemy units and structures, locate prisoners of war, and deliver them to waiting transport points.
The jeep fires a forward machine gun and launches grenades. Rescued prisoners can improve the jeep’s weapons, while the route includes bridges, water passages, checkpoints, and boss encounters. One- or two-player modes are available, with both players sharing the same battlefield.
Plan your run
What is the best way to play Jackal?
Keep moving rather than stopping in open areas, and use the jeep’s wide movement space to circle slow enemies. Fire continuously at ordinary targets, but save grenades for armored vehicles, emplacements, and buildings.
Rescue prisoners whenever the route is safe. Weapon improvements make later sections much more manageable, but losing the jeep or a player can quickly reduce the campaign’s momentum. In two-player mode, divide attention between forward threats and enemies approaching from the sides.
Before you begin
What should you know before playing?
- 1
Approach enemy groups from an angle instead of driving directly into their fire.
- 2
Use water routes and open space to avoid being surrounded.
- 3
Protect rescued prisoners until they reach the extraction point.
