How it plays
Matches take place on a single two-dimensional plane. Players select a character, reduce the opponent's health, and win rounds with normal attacks, special moves, throws, and character-specific abilities.
Many fighters can summon or dismiss a Stand. A Stand changes attack properties and creates separate timing risks: damage to the Stand can affect its user, while Stand Rush techniques allow attacks to continue during certain animations. Arcade, versus, training, and other console modes provide structured progression and replay value.
Plan your run
Learn when to activate and dismiss the Stand rather than leaving it exposed continuously. Watch the Stand gauge and avoid trading damage when the opponent can punish recovery.
Use normal attacks to establish range, then confirm into a special move or Stand Rush sequence. In neutral, vary jump-ins, throws, and low attacks instead of repeating one approach. Practice each character's Stand-specific timing in training mode.

Editorial context
A colorful and mechanically distinctive Capcom fighter with a strong adaptation of Stardust Crusaders.
The Stand system gives familiar fighting-game fundamentals an unusual layer of risk and timing.
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure is a 2D fighting game developed and published by Capcom for the original PlayStation. It is based primarily on Stardust Crusaders, the third story arc of Hirohiko Araki's manga, and follows Jotaro Kujo and his allies on their journey toward Egypt. The roster combines martial artists, assassins, vampires, and Stand users whose supernatural abilities shape every match. Play follows traditional arcade-fighting conventions, but Stand activation, movement, and special techniques give the game a strong identity. The PlayStation version adapts Capcom's arcade game with additional modes and content. It received a generally positive historical reputation for its colorful presentation, faithful character work, unusual mechanics, and enthusiastic fan service.
