How it plays
Kirby explores seven side-scrolling worlds made up of platforming stages, bonus areas, and boss encounters. He can walk, fly, swim, inhale enemies, spit them out as stars, and use copied abilities.
Rick, Kine, and Coo can assist Kirby, while certain abilities combine with a specific animal friend to create different attacks. Rainbow Drops are hidden throughout the adventure. Collecting all seven unlocks the stronger final confrontation and the best ending.
Plan your run
Explore every branch of each stage instead of rushing to the goal. Animal friends can open routes or improve a copied ability, so test them whenever a room offers a choice.
Search for Rainbow Drops carefully. Revisit earlier stages after gaining useful abilities, and keep health items for boss rooms when possible. Completing the collection is required for the stronger ending.

Kirby's Dream Land 2 is a side-scrolling platform game developed by HAL Laboratory and published by Nintendo for the Game Boy. Kirby travels across Dream Land to recover the seven Rainbow Drops after King Dedede's actions allow a dark force to threaten the land. The game combines approachable jumping and enemy inhalation with copy abilities and partnerships with three animal friends. Its compact stages, secret collectibles, and optional completion challenge give the adventure more depth than the original Kirby's Dream Land. Critics and players generally praised its colorful presentation, inventive abilities, and strong use of the Game Boy hardware. It is also notable as the first Kirby game to introduce animal friends as a major gameplay feature.
