Button assignments follow the standard Game Boy Advance version; regional documentation may describe the Wind Bullet action as capture or throw.
Some contextual actions depend on the object or enemy being targeted.
How it plays
The game uses a side-view perspective. Klonoa travels through self-contained stages, reaches the goal, collects Dream Stones and other items, and solves environmental puzzles along the way.
The Wind Bullet lets Klonoa capture nearby enemies. Captured enemies can be thrown at switches or obstacles, and some can provide an additional jump. Progression is organized through worlds and stages, with challenge-oriented areas and boss encounters appearing as the adventure advances.
Plan your run
Study each room before moving. Many puzzles are easier when an enemy is captured and carried to the correct position rather than thrown immediately.
Collect Dream Stones while checking side paths, but prioritize safe landings and switches. Save useful enemies for situations that require a second jump, and learn the timing of each boss pattern before attacking.

Before you begin
Use captured enemies for both attacks and extra height; they are often the key to reaching side platforms.

Do not spend every available enemy at once when a puzzle may require another throw or jump.
Klonoa: Empire of Dreams is a side-scrolling platformer with puzzle-focused level design, developed and published by Namco for the Game Boy Advance. It follows Klonoa as he enters the Empire of Dreams and works to recover his lost ability to dream. The game combines traditional jumping with Klonoa’s Wind Bullet, which captures enemies so they can be thrown or used for extra jumps. Its stages emphasize careful positioning, collectible gathering, and compact environmental puzzles rather than continuous combat. The colorful presentation and inventive mechanics were generally well received, especially for bringing the Klonoa formula to a handheld, although its shorter structure and simpler presentation distinguish it from the console entries.
