How it plays
Players explore towns, roads, forests, ruins, and dungeons from a third-person perspective. The main objectives are to restore the Seru world, defeat Mist-infected enemies, and advance the story through conversations, key items, and boss battles.
Combat is turn-based. Each character can attack, defend, use items, cast magic through Seru, or enter directional commands to create Arts. New Arts are discovered by testing command sequences, while equipment, levels, Seru, and plot events expand the party's options. The game is primarily a single-player story campaign.
Plan your run
Experiment with directional commands during safe encounters and record successful Arts. Early discoveries can greatly improve damage and conserve resources.
Keep equipment current, inspect every area for items, and use Seru abilities to cover elemental weaknesses. Save before bosses and adjust each character's role rather than relying on one attack pattern.

Legend of Legaia is a fantasy role-playing game developed by Prokion for the original PlayStation. It follows Vahn, Noa, and Gala as they travel through a world threatened by the Mist, a supernatural force that turns living beings into monsters. The game combines traditional turn-based party combat with an unusual command system based on directional inputs and learned Arts. Exploration uses a conventional third-person perspective, while battles emphasize experimentation and character development. Its story, atmospheric settings, and distinctive combat system earned it a dedicated following, although some players found the random encounters and pacing demanding. The game later became the first entry in the Legaia series.
