How it plays
Viewed from an overhead perspective, the game asks Link to explore Holodrum, recover the eight Essences of Nature, and defeat Onox. The world changes between spring, summer, autumn, and winter, opening routes and altering obstacles.
Link attacks with a sword, blocks or strikes with a shield, uses dungeon items to solve puzzles, and earns Heart Containers and equipment upgrades. Eight main dungeons contain maps, compasses, keys, bosses, and progressively more specialized challenges. A linked password can transfer progress-related secrets between Oracle of Seasons and Oracle of Ages.
Plan your run
Use the season-changing ability to revisit older areas whenever a route seems blocked. Seasonal changes often expose entrances, move objects, or alter terrain rather than simply changing scenery.
Collect rings, upgrade equipment, and search for Heart Pieces between dungeons. Before a dungeon boss, identify how the current dungeon item interacts with its arena; many bosses are designed around that item. Keep spare seeds and potions when exploring difficult regions.

The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons is an action-adventure game developed by Flagship and published by Nintendo for the Game Boy Color. Link is drawn into the land of Holodrum, where the seasons have been disrupted and the Oracle Din has been kidnapped by the general Onox. Exploration, swordplay, item-based puzzles, and dungeon challenges form the core of the adventure. The game supports a linked experience with Oracle of Ages through passwords and connectivity. Critics generally praised its inventive seasonal mechanics, substantial content, and faithful handheld adaptation of Zelda’s established formula.
