How it plays

How does Life Force play?

The player pilots a ship from a side-view perspective through a fixed sequence of scrolling stages. Enemies, projectiles, terrain, and environmental hazards must be avoided while the player destroys targets and reaches each stage boss.

Power capsules unlock upgrades such as speed, missiles, options, and stronger shots. The power meter determines which upgrade is selected, so collecting and activating improvements is an important part of progression. The game supports one-player and simultaneous two-player modes.

Plan your run

What is the best way to play Life Force?

Collect power capsules safely and activate upgrades in an order that matches the stage. Speed and a stronger primary weapon are useful early choices, while options and missiles increase coverage once movement is under control.

Learn boss attack patterns rather than rushing damage. In two-player mode, coordinate positioning so both ships do not occupy the same escape route, and preserve lives for later stages.

Before you begin

What should you know before playing?

  1. 1

Use short movement adjustments near terrain and bosses instead of holding a direction continuously.

  2. 2

Watch the power meter before collecting a capsule so the desired upgrade is selected.

  3. 3

Two-player firepower helps, but crowded screens require careful spacing.
