How it plays
The game uses a third-person perspective, with optional first-person aiming in applicable situations. Missions are self-contained exercises with objectives such as reaching a goal, destroying targets, avoiding guards, or using a particular weapon.
Progression comes from clearing missions and opening additional exercises, stages, and challenge variations. Performance is commonly measured by completion time, accuracy, and whether alerts or unnecessary damage were avoided. There is no continuous story campaign.
Plan your run
Learn each mission's objective before moving quickly. In stealth exercises, use the radar and observe guard routes rather than rushing through open areas.
For timed stages, memorize the shortest safe route and restart after a major mistake. In weapon exercises, prioritize accuracy and reload discipline; in elimination missions, position yourself so one alert does not compromise the entire attempt.

Metal Gear Solid: VR Missions is a PlayStation stealth-action training game developed by Konami Computer Entertainment Japan and published by Konami. It presents a large collection of short virtual-reality exercises based on the mechanics of Metal Gear Solid rather than a conventional story campaign. Players control Solid Snake through missions involving movement, weapons, guards, target elimination, item collection, and environmental puzzles. The release was well received for extending the original game's systems and offering substantial replay value, although its repetitive structure and limited narrative made it less approachable than the main adventure. Its score-based challenges also helped establish a compact format for later stealth training modes.
